incorrect Sakae 21 engine fuel consumption rate.
It is 70% higher in the game, at normal power it is 45% higher.
The current fuel consumption rate is 590~600kg/hour at sea level. This translates to 0.526kg/hp/h when the engine is operating at WEP.
No other real Japanese engines had their fuel consumption rate this high. It's totally unrealistic. Usually, this is about twice as high as the most common ww2 aero engines. The comparable contemporarily engines from the same era sit around 2 third of this engine.
The real engine's fuel consumption rate is 350kg per hour at take-off power (1130hp). Its fuel consumption rate is literally described to be exact 0.31kg/hp/h at 1130hp in the manual, straight up. The "normal" 100% throttle FCR would be 0.3kg/hp/h (1010hp). This, in turn, would yield a flight time of "1 hour 21 minutes" instead of 57 minutes like present in the game. This is based on my assumption that the internal fuel load would be 416kg(from online sources). The fuel consumption rate at the normal power setting is 303kg. The FCR of 420 "Liters" per hour is multiplied by 0.72(92 octane) to get this value. The official wiki states the max fuel weight to be 420kg so the margin of error only favors my theory of this game not reflecting its real life counterpart accurately.

What I assume is that the devs quite literally failed to see that the quantity listed is in "Liters" and not in kilograms, This is especially confusing as Japanese documents tend to list weights in kg, except for the amount of fuel. Although, I assume this is kinda universal.
Even then, the FCR at take-off power is still wrong.
The current fuel consumption rate of 439kg/h is close to the value of "420" in the manual, though the latter is in Liters.
Affected vehicles are as follows.
A6M3, All A6M5 variants, A6M6, J1N1.
It took me a minute to consume 65 seconds' worth of fuel during WEP. My FCR was 8% higher. I assume the difference in horsepower is 11%. The decrease in FC/hp efficiency is 3.3% as it's strictly stated in the manual.
All of it comes down to me just saying this game is wrong about A6M3 - A6M6's fuel efficiency at all power settings.
WEP should consume 15.6% more fuel than normal, because of the "350/303" calculation I performed. It's literally a kindergarten level math so none of you all should have a problem with my thread. Otherwise, please leave without saying a thing.
Please note that it's this far away from the basic ass values in the manual, the widely available manual. It's not 3 or 5%. The error is visible just by looking at the 0.52 value. Not because it's A6M, but because it's wrong in case of any other planes if this was found. The 0.52 multiplier is just that crazy of a value for an engine. Like, 70%? seriously? Fiddling with the mixture control doesn't do a trick. So I'm not missing anything here. There you go.
If my grammar is lacking, it's because I'm out of slops.
